I'm Christin Renner, born in Berlin and now living in Teltow-Fläming. I don't need to travel far to make nature photographs. Many of my images are made in places I have known for years – and where no two days are ever quite the same.

I'm interested in more than the animal itself: its behaviour and the space it lives in. I watch, wait and try to anticipate what might happen next before deciding which image I want to make. Sometimes that takes a few seconds, sometimes hours.

I'm not trying to come home with as many photographs as possible. I can watch an osprey hunt and end up without a single good picture – and it can still have been a good morning.

Maybe that's why I keep going out: with a camera, I look more closely.
